Message of Solidarity

Dear Colleagues of Caritas Kenya and Partners
We have learnt with much despair the very sad news about the terrible violence in Kenya following the results of the elections held on 27 December 2007. We hope that you, your respective families, your respective staff members, Caritas partners and families as well as all your relatives and friends are all safe.
We understand, from the latest news received, that you all the Church organisations are working together to providing rapid food relief to some of the 100 000 Kenyans displaced by the conflict and that you are all quickly assessing the scale of the situation.
Through this short message, we wish to convey to you our strong solidarity and tell you that we pray our Lord Jesus Christ that He may convince your political leaders to meet at the discussion table and find a workable solution that will bring peace in your country.
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that the situation will quickly improve and return to normal.
